New Center for Sustainable Materials Management at SUNY-ESF

Great news readers! My Alma Mater, the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry is launching a new New York State Center for Sustainable Materials Management aimed at state-wide collaboration towards waste stream reduction, extended producer responsibility, and progressive development of our waste management laws.

It looks like SUNY-ESF's Center for Sustainable Materials Management (CSMM) is going to be working hand-in-hand with the Syracuse University Center for Sustainable Community Solutions, the Onondaga County Resource Recovery Agency, New York DEC, and many other advocacy and legislative stakeholders to address waste stream issues that have been compounding since international shipments of recyclables to China have ceased.

In preparation for the up-and-coming Recycle Right New York campaign, SUNY-ESF and OCRRA collaboratively hosted a virtual conference that you can view here

A whole new world of exciting sustainability solutions are just around the corner for NY!

A new post will be released soon tackling the issue of Extended Producer Responsibility in New York State. Subscribe to stay updated!
